I was very excited about the trip- can you tell?!?
We stayed in Times Square at a hotel called "The Hotel @ Times Square"- they get right to the point. We didn't get there on Friday until late, so we got a good night's sleep so we could hit Manhattan in the morning. Saturday morning we headed to the Empire State Building first. It was SOOOO tall! We went up to the 86th floor and it was VERY windy!
All of the cars looked like matchbox size on the street. We could see all parts of the city from the four sides of the building. We could see the Statue of Liberty, and she looked so small!
After that we headed to Times Square- what a place! There were characters and people everywhere! I got my picture with Elmo and Olaf- two of my favorites.
Then we went to the BIGGEST Toys 'R Us store I have ever seen! There was even a ferris wheel inside. We rode on the car that looked like the red and yellow car that little kids ride around in.
On Saturday afternoon we got to go to see The Lion King on Broadway. WOW! This show was spectacular! There were huge costumes of giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs and elephants. They sang all of my favorite Lion King songs and the characters walked by our seats when they went on stage!
After the show we took a ride on the subway to see our old friend Marcy, she gives me lessons on how to move better.
Finally we headed to dinner. We went to Rockefeller Center and found a place called Bill's Bar and Burgers. In a city that never sleeps, I managed to catch a few winks during dinner- it had been a LONG day.
On Sunday, we got up early and headed to Central Park. On the way we stopped at the Today Show for a quick photo op!
It was a beautiful sunny day and we went to Bethesda Fountain. My mom helped me practice walking to the fountain.
We stopped by the M 'n M Store and got the coolest treat: M 'n M's with my name on them! I also put my brother and sister's names on them too. We got to pick the colors and push the big button to make them!
They even had a computer that told you what kind of M 'n M you were. It told me I was purple!
After that we had to pack up and head home. On our way out of NY we stopped at my mom's old roommate's office where they run a "School of Rock"! It was so cool- they had tons of instruments and practice rooms!
We finally made it home on Sunday night and I was beat! I had so much fun hanging with my mom and dad!
